The Coordination and Support Action (CSA) CIVITAS ELEVATE helps to advance the CIVITAS Community to a higher level of knowledge, exchange, impact and sustainability. Coordinated by Mobiel 21, the mission of CIVITAS ELEVATE is to increase the Europe-wide impact of the CIVITAS projects on urban mobility policy making and thereby advancing the CIVITAS community to a higher level of knowledge, exchange, impact and sustainability, while guaranteeing essential high-quality support

For more than 20 years, CIV­I­TAS has served as a crit­i­cal hub for knowl­edge and expe­ri­ence on sus­tain­able urban mobil­i­ty mea­sures, both prac­ti­cal and pol­i­cy-relat­ed, that has been con­tin­u­ous­ly made avail­able to Europe’s urban areas. All pre­vi­ous, present and future CIV­I­TAS projects tend to have their own dynam­ics, coop­er­a­tion, eval­u­a­tion, and dis­sem­i­na­tion struc­tures. How­ev­er, our aim is to offer over­ar­ch­ing coor­di­na­tion and sup­port for all projects.

Enrich­ing the CIV­I­TAS gen­er­a­tion and feed­ing future EU initiatives 

CIV­I­TAS ELE­VATE deep­ens the rela­tion­ship with­in the CIV­I­TAS Com­mu­ni­ty by imple­ment­ing a Liai­son Sys­tem and iden­ti­fy­ing Stew­ards along­side, and by sup­port­ing the Research & Inno­va­tion Actions and Inno­va­tion Actions with engag­ing meet­ings and net­work­ing events, for exam­ple, by organ­is­ing the Urban Mobil­i­ty Days in 2020, 2021 and 2022. ELE­VATE also cre­ates and main­tains a com­pre­hen­sive com­mu­ni­ca­tion and dis­sem­i­na­tion frame­work that enables the CIV­I­TAS projects and CIVINETs to por­tray their work with max­i­mum effect to an inter­na­tion­al audi­ence from a broad range of fields.

Build­ing a Euro­pean mobil­i­ty com­mu­ni­ty able to nav­i­gate transition 

Fur­ther­more, CIV­I­TAS ELE­VATE increas­es the impact of the CIV­I­TAS pro­gramme and the CIVINETs through its Mobil­i­ty Match ses­sions, an Incu­ba­tor and the CIVINET Sup­port and Invest­ment Cen­tre and by train­ing and capac­i­ty build­ing through its Learn­ing Cen­tre and Edu­ca­tion­al Net­work with the aim to dis­sem­i­nate and exchange the knowl­edge and exper­tise gained in all CIV­I­TAS projects.

Devel­op­ing the CIV­I­TAS knowl­edge base and trans­fer­ring new knowledge

Har­mon­is­ing eval­u­a­tion activ­i­ties by pro­vid­ing guid­ance and sup­port to the stake­hold­ers involved in, and beyond, CIV­I­TAS 2020, and advanc­ing the knowl­edge that the CIV­I­TAS ini­tia­tive has built year after year to improve urban mobil­i­ty pol­i­cy mak­ing and plan­ning, are fur­ther key aims of ELE­VATE. And final­ly, to ensure the sus­tain­abil­i­ty of CIV­I­TAS‘ out­comes, Busi­ness Mod­els will be devel­oped and the next gen­er­a­tion of trans­port pro­fes­sion­als will be involved in the CIV­I­TAS community.
