Naar Jobs
Smart to get to work? Naar Jobs helps jobseekers find easily accessible jobs. This platform literally puts vacancies throughout Flanders on the map and shows the smartest ways to get there.
The platform in a nutshell
Naarjobs.be is a unique online job platform.
- Jobseekers quickly find an ideal job in their neighbourhood. And they immediately find out how to get there. Because the perfect job is often closer than people think.
- For job coaches, employment mediators or referrers, the platform is an extra tool to overcome mobility barriers and get jobseekers into work quickly.
- Employers use the platform to attract new talent. They do this by highlighting their mobility benefits, such as bicycle leasing or a train pass. These perks convince jobseekers to choose their organisation.
Accessibility and proximity as a starting point
Classic job databases and platforms focus heavily on the specifications a job seeker needs to perform a job. Just think about the right diploma or the number of years of experience someone has on the counter.
Whether a suitable candidate gets to that job smoothly and safely often remains underexposed. So it happens that people pass up job opportunities simply because they do not have enough transport options or are not sufficiently familiar with the existing options.
Naarjobs.be changes this. The platform literally puts vacancies on the map and shows jobseekers the way to jobs in their neighbourhood. Accessibility and proximity form the starting point of the interactive map.

Jobseekers find accessible vacancies
Naarjobs.be contains all the vacancies that also appear on the VDAB website. Each vacancy on the platform automatically shows how to reach the place of employment, even if you do not have your own car. Prefer to go by bike, bus or train? The platform shows you all the possibilities and literally helps you on your way. Using the search function, jobseekers can, for example, search from their home address, explore a region or even filter vacancies based on travel distance and travel time.
An extra in the toolbox of job coaches
Job coaches, job mediators and referrers can also access the platform. For them, it is a useful tool to guide people to a job more easily. A survey among VDAB job coaches shows that mobility is one of the main bottlenecks in helping people find a job. Mobiel 21 therefore teaches job coaches how to use the platform intelligently to guide jobseekers through the labour market.
Profit for employers
The platform also offers opportunities for employers. For they can use it to highlight their mobility offers. And in just a few clicks. For example, does a company offer bicycle leasing, a train pass or other mobility benefits? Then it has an edge in the War For Talent, because those perks entice jobseekers to apply. That's a win-win. While employers draw attention to the services they offer for smoother commuting, jobseekers immediately see how to get to the site.
Sustainable commuting
By comparing vacancies based on accessibility, Naarjobs.be aims to encourage people to travel to work in a sustainable way. In this way, the platform contributes to modal shift.

Even people who live less than 15 kilometres from work still often commute by car. That could be more sustainable. Naarjobs.be makes it easier to compare those sustainable options.
