We are Mobiel 21
Mobiel 21 is a Belgian non-profit organisation, recognized by the Flemish government, committed to making sustainable mobility the easy, inclusive and attractive choice. Locally, nationally and across Europe.
We set people in motion, both literally and figuratively, by working with citizens, governments, schools and organisations to rethink how we move and use public space.
Driving people-centred mobility for over 40 years
Based in Leuven (Belgium), we have been developing projects, campaigns, tools and policies that promote active, sustainable mobility since 1982. From local cycling classes to international research projects, we believe better mobility starts with people.
Locally rooted, internationally recognized
Our work also reaches beyond Leuven and Belgium. Since the 1990s, we have been a trusted partner in more than 35 EU-funded projects, with the European Commission regularly calling on our expertise in programmes such as CIVITAS, Horizon Europe, LIFE and Interreg.
Our team
We are a multidisciplinary group of project managers, mobility experts, researchers, traffic educators, engagement facilitators and communication strategists. What binds us is our shared belief in a fairer, healthier and more sustainable mobility future.

We offer expert support in sustainable mobility, including project coordination, policy advice, network facilitation, practice transfer, citizen engagement, and educational materials. Our services support innovation, inclusion and lasting impact.

Mobiel 21 encourages people to look at mobility differently and to move more actively. Together with citizens and policymakers, we work on a mental and modal shift. In this way, we make sustainable mobility tangible and accessible to everyone. Because that is our mission.
