Our network
Creating sustainable mobility systems requires strong partnerships. From small towns in Belgium to EU-level collaborations, we work hand-in-hand with citizens, policymakers, schools, companies and a wide range of organisations to turn ambitions into action.
With citizens
Many citizens are ready to work on the sustainable mobility of the future: from activists and community leaders to volunteers. They are our allies in helping to test, shape and spread solutions. We empower them with insights, inspiration and citizen science tools to enable local action.
With policymakers
Mobility is a hot topic. Everyone has an opinion about it, both politically and personally. That’s why we support policymakers on the local, regional, national and European level to find consensus on new mobility measures, for example through policy support, research insights and participation processes.
With schools
Children have a unique view of our world. We consciously choose to engage children in the mobility debate from an early age. Together with school principals, teachers, parents and of course the children themselves, we create safer school environments and school routes.
With companies
Sustainable mobility often starts at work. More and more companies and organisations recognise mobility as a lever for well-being, diversity, inclusion and climate impact. We work with employers who want to get their employees moving. Literally and figuratively. From cycling lessons for employees to mobility scans and awareness campaigns: together we ensure smoother, safer and more sustainable mobility inside and outside the company.
With the European CIVITAS Community
We are an active member of the CIVITAS community, one of the flagship programmes helping the European Commission achieve its ambitious mobility and transport goals.
As a long-standing CIVITAS partner, we contribute our expertise to European projects and capacity-building efforts. We coordinate CIVINET .BE, the Belgian CIVITAS National Network. This non-political platform connects local authorities in Brussels, Flanders and Wallonia with European developments in sustainable mobility. Through the platform, we facilitate knowledge exchange, strengthen local capacity and help cities access EU funding, tools and best practices.
We also play key roles in CIVITAS support actions such as ELEVATE and MUSE, helping to amplify the impact of CIVITAS activities.
With other organisations
Within Belgium, we work closely with our partner organisations within the Netwerk Duurzame Mobiliteit; with universities and knowledge institutes; with consultancy firms; with study and design agencies; with cycling organisations such as Pro Velo, Fietsersbond and Fietsberaad Vlaanderen; with other socio-cultural movements within De Federatie and the Netwerk tegen Armoede; with technology partners such as Telraam, Bike Citizens and Nazka Mapps; and with commercial partners such as KBC and CERA.
On a European level, we are an experienced partner in a wide range of European research and innovation projects, from Horizon to Interreg. In recent years, we have collaborated with cities, universities and research institutes, NGOs, consultancy firms and EU institutions such as DG MOVE. These partnerships allow us to scale local expertise, share Belgian best practices abroad and bring valuable international insights back home.
Let’s collaborate!
