Aya at School
Aya is a wacky, bright yellow space creature that helps preschoolers better understand our traffic. With an Aya campaign, schools also encourage parents and children to come to school sustainably.
Going to school sustainably with Aya
Aya helps toddlers discover and understand traffic in a playful way. Together with his friends Otto and Belle, this cheerful, bright yellow space creature experiences all kinds of adventures. By playing Aya games, participating in the Aya school campaign and watching the animation series, preschoolers learn all about traffic rules and how to move safely in traffic in a playful way.
Aya at your school?
Every school year since 2014, Aya has been on hand to take preschoolers on an educational journey of discovery. Schools can sign up for the Aya campaign for free. In total, Mobiel 21 has 1,200 packages ready to launch the campaign. The free campaign package consists of:
- 4 Aya class posters
- lots of Aya sticker dots
- Aya campaign guidelines
Schools are free to choose when to organise their Aya campaign. In September, during Mobility Week, or rather in spring: it's all possible.
The Aya campaign in action
With the Aya campaign, schools also motivate parents and pre-schoolers to come to school in sustainable ways as often as possible: cycling, walking, stepping, carpooling ... these are all ways to make the school environment less chaotic. And of course, sustainable mobility is also healthier for everyone.
For each sustainable and safe journey, the pre-schoolers collect dots which they may stick on a poster. When the poster is full, they get a fun reward. Extra playtime, an Aya walk, an Aya treat...the class teacher chooses these all by himself.
Need extra inspiration?
On Aya's website, you will find lots of inspiration, lesson ideas, videos, storytelling slides and fine crafts and activities to use in the classroom throughout the year.

Fancy a Car-Free School Day?

Safe school environments and routes
Children deserve a safe journey to school. We work with schools, parents, local authorities and pupils to create safer routes, reduce traffic pressure and promote active travel in the school environment. Autonomous mobility should be the norm. Everywhere!
