StraatPraat

Mobility for everyone
Smart cities and towns

StraatPraat is a dialogue game about mobility. While playing, you get people to talk to each other about how we are all on the road and how smoothly or difficult that is. Thanks to your enjoyment of the game, we get valuable input to work on better and more sustainable mobility.

Playing to win?

To win the game, you must be the first to reach the meeting centre in the centre of the game board. But winning, for once, is not the most important thing. Because along the way, you listen to experiences and tips from other players about walking, cycling, train-tram-bus, shared cars and shared bikes. You talk to each other about how we are on the road and how smooth or difficult it is. You get ahead in the game by drawing route maps and green-light cards. And when you encounter obstacles along the way, everyone helps each other overcome them by answering fun quiz questions about mobility together. In this way, Street Talk provides fascinating insights and valuable suggestions to work towards better and more sustainable mobility for all.

Who plays Street Talk?

Street talk can be played in neighbourhood activities, associations where the poor speak out, associations for the elderly, organisations that unite people around a particular means of transport. But Straatpraat is certainly not only for people who do not always get everywhere easily. Students, policy makers, social workers ... can also play the game. It becomes even more interesting when policymakers, students, social workers play the game with people who do not always get everywhere easily.

Playing Street Talk

To win the game, you must be the first to reach the meeting centre in the centre of the game board. But even more important than winning, all players share experiences and tips on how smoothly or laboriously you get where you need to be in real life.

In the game, you get ahead by drawing route cards and green-light cards. And when you encounter obstacles along the way, everyone helps each other to overcome them by answering fun quiz questions about mobility together. Street talk is played with minimum 3 and maximum 6 players. A game lasts about 2 hours. Besides the players, two extra people are needed: a game supervisor and a reporter. This way, no information is lost and at the end all players can write down their policy recommendations together. All the information you need to play the game is in the manual that comes with the game in the pannier.
