Site visit Sint-Niklaas: Parking management & UVAR
Sint-Niklaas shows that parking management and UVAR are important levers to work on better mobility, accessibility and liveability. Take part in the CIVINET .BE site visit to the city, and get insights, practical examples and tools to get started in your city or municipality too.
Levers for better mobility, accessibility and liveability
Parking management and Urban Vehicle Access Regulations (UVAR) are crucial levers for local governments striving to improve mobility, accessibility and liveability in their town centres or village centres. Yet these topics are often perceived as sensitive, especially when it comes to changes to the 'parking at the doorstep'. As a result, parking policy all too often remains spot on.
Stad Sint-Niklaas shows that you can use parking management and UVAR successfully, with positive results for both residents and visitors.
To take a closer look at this successful approach, CIVINET .BE would like to take you on a site visit to Sint-Niklaas on Tuesday 7 October (9-17h). Together we will explore how the city is working on innovative parking management and UVAR, based among others on the European project Park4SUMP. We will also visit the brand-new Grote Markt, recently transformed from a parking square into a pleasant and attractive place to stay.
This site visit offers a unique opportunity to learn from the approach in Sint-Niklaas, and to get inspiration on parking measures that you can also roll out in your city or municipality. Definitely worth taking a look.
Participation in the site visit is free. Vehicle language is English. The number of places is limited. So register today to join us.
