My Short Rides

Every year between 21st March and 21st April, Mobiel 21 welcomes spring with their 'My Short Rides' campaign. Via towns and local organisations, Mobiel 21 tries to encourage as many people as possible to leave aside their car when travelling short distances (< 5km) and walk or cycle instead. Leaving your car at home has three benefits: it is healthy, cheap and good for the environment. If more people would start walking and cycling, our living environment would become a cleaner, safer and more pleasant place.

Target Group

This campaign aims to reach a lot of people: local councils, clubs, town staff, entrepreneurs, neighbourhood committees... Basically anyone interested in walking or cycling their short distances. A campaign like this is most effective when supported by local organisations and individuals. Towns registering as local campaign organisers can also choose to involve some of their local organisations and associations to join in on the My Short Rides project.

Practical Information

Every year the campaign takes place between 21st March and 21st April. Anyone can participate for free. Mobiel 21 supports the participating towns by offering free campaign material and organising free info sessions (on demand).
